This is why Modi said that if you mess with us, you will mix in mud.
India has repeatedly raised its concern over Pakistan's support to cross-border terrorism and has asserted that terror and talks cannot go together.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday (May 8, 2025) chaired a high-level meeting with Union Secretaries to review the country’s preparedness and inter-Ministerial coordination in light of recent developments pertaining to national security.
According to an official release, the Prime Minister emphasised the need for continued alertness, institutional synergy, and clear communication mechanisms as the nation navigates a sensitive period. He reiterated the Centre’s unwavering commitment to ensuring national security, operational preparedness, and the safety of citizens.

Following the Indian Air Force, the Navy has now taken decisive action. INS Vikrant, stationed in the Arabian Sea, has begun targeting Karachi, unleashing significant devastation. The Navy’s attack has caused massive fires across the city, including the port of Karachi.
According to defence sources, several missiles were launched from INS Vikrant at the ports of Karachi and Ormara in Pakistan, resulting in widespread fires at both locations. Thick smoke now engulfs the port cities, forcing panicked residents to flee the coastal areas and move inland.
According to defence sources, INS Vikrant has fired multiple missiles at Pakistan’s Karachi and Ormara ports. The attacks have caused massive fires at both locations, with smoke seen billowing across the city.
“INS Vikrant ne Karachi ko nishane par lekar bhaari tabahi machani shuru kar di hai. Nausena ke hamle se Karachi ke bandargah samet shehar mein bhaari aag lagi hui hai,” sources said, confirming the extent of the damage.
Witnesses and local reports suggest that flames engulfed key parts of the Karachi port, spreading panic among residents. People living in coastal areas were seen fleeing toward inland regions to escape the chaos.
Ormara and Karachi Naval Bases Suffer Major Hits
Both Karachi and Ormara are home to major Pakistani naval bases. These facilities reportedly house warships, submarines, and top military headquarters.
“INS Vikrant se Pakistan ke Karachi aur Ormara bandargah par kai missilein daagi gayi hain. Jisse dono port par bhayankar aag lag gayi hai,” said a defence official.
With the Indian Navy’s focused assault, both ports are believed to be heavily damaged. The extent of destruction at these naval bases could severely weaken Pakistan’s maritime defence capabilities.
“INS Vikrant ne in dono Navy base ko barbaad karke Pakistan nausena ko kaafi had tak pangu karne mein safalta pa li hai,” the report added.
Indian Navy Operation Still Underway
The naval operation is still ongoing, and sources indicate that India’s strategic aim is to neutralize Pakistan’s offensive military positions along its southern coast. Indian Navy forces continue to monitor developments from sea, ensuring the operation’s objectives are met.
“Aabhi Bharatiya Nausena ka operation jaari hai,” defence officials confirmed.
INS Vikrant: India’s Floating Air Base
Pakistan had long feared the deployment of INS Vikrant in the Arabian Sea, and now that concern has materialized into reality. As India’s first indigenously built aircraft carrier, INS Vikrant serves as a massive floating airbase capable of launching and supporting combat aircraft at sea.
“Pakistan ko pehle se hi Arab Sagar mein INS Vikrant ki tainati se darr sata raha tha. Is vimanvahak pot ki tainati ka matlab 30 MiG-29K fighter jeton ki sir par tainati thi,” a source stated.
This warship moves with a fleet that includes destroyers, frigates, refuelling ships, and submarines, making it a formidable naval force. Experts say it is nearly impossible to challenge Vikrant’s power at sea.
“Yeh paani mein tairta hua Bharat ka vishal air base hai… jiske chalte is yudhpot se takra paana lagbhag naamumkin hai,” added a naval expert.
India’s military shot down at least two Pakistani JF-17 fighter jets on Thursday evening as part of its ongoing Operation Sindoor, escalating the already tense standoff between the two nations. The Indian strike came in response to coordinated Pakistani drone and missile attacks launched across several Indian border regions.
According to official reports, the Indian Armed Forces acted swiftly and decisively, targeting multiple Pakistani military assets. Pakistan has publicly acknowledged the loss of two of its aircraft.
India shoots down three Pakistani jets including F-16 and JF-17
“We regret to confirm that two JF-17 aircraft were lost during active duty,” said Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, Director General of Pakistan’s Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR), in a formal statement.
The confrontation marks a significant escalation in Operation Sindoor—India’s military operation launched to avenge the terror attack on civilians in Pahalgam, Kashmir. The ongoing operation has included air and drone strikes targeting terror camps and air defence systems across Pakistan-occupied Kashmir and parts of Punjab province, including Lahore and Rawalpindi.
Earlier reports indicated that India had also neutralized more than 70 missiles and intercepted multiple drone attacks using the S-400 air defence system and its Integrated Counter-UAS Grid. Following Pakistan’s failed attempts to damage Indian radar installations, India retaliated with Harpy drones and other precision strikes, reportedly destroying Pakistan’s HQ-9 missile launchers and disabling air defence systems in Lahore.
Thursday’s jet takedown is another powerful signal of India’s readiness to respond with force. Military analysts note that these developments show a strategic shift in India’s rules of engagement, signalling it will no longer tolerate provocations near its borders.
With tensions rising and military operations active on both sides, the international community is closely watching for signs of de-escalation. Meanwhile, India has reaffirmed its focus on neutralizing terror threats and protecting national security under the framework of Operation Sindoor.

Meanwhile, drone attacks have also been foiled in J&K's Udhampur and Rajasthan's Jaisalmer, and a drone was shot down in Akhnoor. Two Kamikaze drones were also shot down in Poonch.
In a major escalation, Pakistan simultaneously attacked several locations in Jammu, including the airport. Rockets were fired at Jammu from across the International Border on Thursday night.
One of the drones hit the Jammu Civil Airport, prompting fighter jets to scramble in response. India activated its air defence systems, which successfully intercepted the incoming rockets.
Pakistani troops have also resorted to unprovoked shelling along the Line of Control in Kupwara, Baramulla, Poonch, Samba, and Uri districts of Jammu and Kashmir late on Thursday evening.
Eight Pakistani missiles were intercepted by the S-400 air defence system over Jammu airport, Samba, RS Pura, Arnia, and nearby areas. Two Pakistani drones were downed near Jammu University.
The Integrated Defence Staff in a statement said, "Military Stations of Jammu, Pathankot and Udhampur in proximity to the International Boundary, in Jammu and Kashmir targeted by Pakistan using missiles and drones. No losses. Threat neutralised by #IndianArmedForces as per SoP with kinetic and non-kinetic means."
