ఆ సమయంలో ఒక పత్రికా విలేఖరి వారిని ఇంటర్వ్యూ చేయడానికి అప్పటికే ప్రచారంలోకి వచ్చిన టేప్ రికార్డర్ని తీసుకువచ్చాడు.

1940:His Holiness Maha Periyava
(Sri Chandrasekharendra Saraswati Swamigal, the Kanchi Paramacharya)
was presiding over a spiritual gathering (satsang).
During this time, a journalist arrived to interview him, bringing along a tape recorder—a newly popularized device at the time.
Upon seeing the tape recorder, Maha Periyava, instead of addressing the journalist, suddenly turned to the devotees present and posed a thought-provoking question:
'Do you know what the most ancient "tape recorder" in the world is?'
No one could answer. The gathering fell into deep silence.
ఎవరూ సమాధానం చెప్పలేక పోయారు. మళ్ళీ స్వామివారు, "విష్ణు సహస్రనామం మనకెలా వచ్చింది?" అని అడిగారు
ఒకరన్నారు, "భీష్ముడందించారన్నారు"
స్వామివారు, "భీష్ముడు విష్ణు సహస్రనామం పలుకుతున్నప్పుడు ఎవరు వ్రాసుకున్నారు?"
మళ్ళీ నిశబ్దం.
స్వామివారు చెప్పడం మొదలుపెట్టారు. భీష్ముడు సహస్రనామాలతో కృష్ణుడిని స్తుతిస్తున్నప్పుడు, కృష్ణుడు, పాండవులు, వ్యాస మహర్షితో సహా అందరూ అత్యంత శ్రద్ధగా వినడం మెదలుపెట్టారు. ఎవరూ వ్రాసుకోలేదు.
అప్పుడు యుధిష్టురుడన్నాడు, "ఈ వేయి నామాలని మనమంతా విన్నాము కాని మనమెవరం వ్రాసుకోలేదు.
ఇపుడెలా కృష్ణా" అని.
"అవును కృష్ణా ఇప్పుడెలా! ఆ సహస్రనామాలు మాకందరికీ కావాలి" అని అందరూ కృష్ణుడిని వేడుకున్నారు.
శ్రీ కృష్ణుడన్నాడు. "అది కేవలం సహదేవుడు, వ్యాసుడి వల్లనే అవుతుంది" అని చెప్పాడు.
"అదెలా" అని అందరూ అడిగారు.
శ్రీ కృష్ణుడు చెప్పాడు, "మనందరిలో సహదేవుడొక్కడే సూత స్పటికం వేసుకున్నాడు. ఈ స్పటికం మహేశ్వర స్వరూపం. దీని ప్రత్యేకతేంటంటే వాతావరణంలోని శబ్ద తరంగాలని గ్రహించి తనలో దాచుకుంటుంది. సహదేవుడు శివుడిని ధ్యానించి ప్రార్ధిస్తే ఈ స్పటికంలోని సహస్రనామ శబ్ద తరంగాలని వెనక్కి రప్పించి (రిప్లే) వ్యాస మహర్షితో వ్రాయించమని కృష్ణుడు సలహా ఇచ్చాడు.
శ్రీ కృష్ణుడి ఆజ్ఞ మేరకు, ఆ సహస్రనామ శబ్ద తరంగాలు వచ్చిన చోట అనగా భీష్ముడికి అతి సమీపంలో సహదేవుడు, వ్యాసమహర్షి కూర్చుని, ఆ సహస్రనామ శబ్ద తరంగాలు రిప్లే అవుతూంటే వ్యాస మహర్షి వ్రాసిపెట్టాడు.
No one could answer. Swami asked again, "How did the Vishnu Sahasranama come to us?"
Someone replied, "It is said that Bhishma recited it."
Swami questioned, "Who wrote it down when Bhishma was chanting the Vishnu Sahasranama?"
Silence fell once more.
Swami began to explain. When Bhishma praised Krishna with the thousand names, Krishna, the Pandavas, and even Vyasa Maharshi listened with utmost focus. But no one recorded them.
Yudhishthira then said, "We all heard these thousand names, but none of us wrote them down. How do we recover them now, Krishna?"
"Yes, Krishna! How do we retrieve those thousand names now? We all need them," everyone entreated Krishna.
Sri Krishna replied, "This can only be achieved through Sahadeva and Vyasa."
"How?" they all asked.
Sri Krishna explained, "Among us, only Sahadeva has invoked the Suta Sphatika (a divine crystal). This crystal embodies the form of Lord Shiva. Its unique power is to capture and store sound waves from the atmosphere. If Sahadeva meditates on Shiva and prays, the sound waves of the Sahasranama stored in this crystal can be replayed. Then, Vyasa Maharshi can transcribe them."
As per Sri Krishna’s command, Sahadeva and Vyasa Maharshi sat near the spot where Bhishma had originally recited the Sahasranama. As the sound waves from the crystal began to replay, Vyasa Maharshi meticulously transcribed them.
కృష్ణుడి యుక్తి: శివ స్పటికం
శ్రీకృష్ణుడు మందహాసంతో సమాధానమిచ్చాడు:
"సహదేవుడి సూత స్పటికమే మార్గం! ఈ స్పటికం మహాదేవుని ప్రత్యక్ష స్వరూపం. ఇది వాతావరణంలోని ప్రతి శబ్ద తరంగాన్ని శోషించి, స్వయంగా ధారణ చేస్తుంది. సహదేవుడు శివధ్యానంతో ఈ రహస్యాన్ని గ్రహించాడు."
సభాసదులందరూ ఆశ్చర్యచకితులయ్యారు. కృష్ణుడు వివరించాడు:

With a gentle smile, Sri Krishna answered:
“The solution lies in Sahadeva’s Suta Sphatika! This crystal is the direct manifestation of Lord Shiva. It absorbs every sound wave in the atmosphere and stores them within itself. Sahadeva realized this secret through his meditation on Shiva.”
The entire assembly was astonished. Krishna elaborated:
“Among all of us, only Sahadeva has invoked the Suta Sphatika. This crystal embodies Lord Mahadeva (Shiva). Its unique power is to capture and preserve sound waves from the surroundings. If Sahadeva meditates on Shiva and prays, the sound waves of the Sahasranama stored in this crystal can be retrieved (replayed). Then, Vyasa Maharshi can transcribe them.”
Following Sri Krishna’s command, Sahadeva and Vyasa Maharshi seated themselves near the spot where Bhishma had originally recited the Sahasranama. As the sound waves from the crystal began to replay, Vyasa Maharshi transcribed them meticulously.

స్వామివారు ముగించారు:
"ఆ సూత స్పటికమే మానవాళికి తొలి టేప్ రికార్డర్!
శివుడి స్పటికం, విష్ణువు సహస్రనామాలు, మనుష్యుల సేవ—మూడింటి సంగమమే ఈ గ్రంథాన్ని అమరత్వమిచ్చింది. ఇది భక్తి, శాస్త్రం, సృజనాత్మకత యొక్క జయంలక్ష్మి!"
ఆ విధంగా మనకు మొట్టమొదటి టేప్ రికర్డర్ శివస్వరూప స్పటికం ద్వార మనకి విష్ణు సహస్రనామం అందిందని మహాస్వామి వారు సెలవిచ్చారు.
స్పటికం: శివుడి ప్రత్యక్ష శక్తి.
సహదేవుడు: శాంతమూర్తి, శివభక్తి సాక్షి.
వ్యాసుడు: వాణీ అవతారం, శాశ్వత జ్ఞాన రక్షకుడు.
అపార కరుణాసింధుం జ్ఞానదం శాంతరూపిణం
శ్రీ చంద్రశేఖర గురుం ప్రణమామి ముదావహం ।।
Sahadeva! Sit beside Bhishma with this crystal, meditate on Shiva, and replay those sound waves. Vyasa Maharshi will transcribe them.”

Sahadeva wore the crystal on his shoulder and seated himself near Bhishma. As he meditated on Shiva, the divine energy of the Lord flowed into the crystal—

Thus, Mahaswami declared, “Through Shiva’s crystal, humanity received the Vishnu Sahasranama—this was the first ‘tape recorder’!”
